The myLaw online learning platform was founded with the mission to make quality legal education accessible to law students & recent law graduates. In addition, we wanted to build an accessible repository of Indian legal history through interviews with leading lawyers and documentaries on important events (currently accessible on the myLaw Youtube channel). The legal education ecosystem is spread out with over 1500 law schools, over 400,000 law students and over 50,000 yearly graduates.
In furtherance of these objectives, we started creating content almost a decade ago and experimenting with delivery models to try and reach the largest audience possible. We first made practical knowledge and skills-oriented courses available to law schools to support their learning efforts. Then we started directly offering courses or packages of courses to interested students and professionals. By 2019, we realised that affordability was the single most important factor for scale – making the platform available to tens of thousands of law students and recent graduates yearly. Accordingly, we shifted the myLaw platform to a low-cost subscription model that has been a success in the legal education ecosystem. Here are a few quick metrics:
We realise that this is just the start – taking myLaw to tens of thousands of law students is an immense challenge, and one we are keen to take on. Good things do take time :-)
