After the Union budget for 2011-12 was announced, we had spoken to Pallavi Bakhru and Divya Baweja, Tax Partners with Walker, Chandiok & Co. who said that it reflected the understanding that more responsibility had to come with greater growth, and that several elements in the Budget are bringing tax structures in line with the proposals contained in the draft Direct Tax Code.
