Forest rights incentivised people to improve their land: Ambrish Mehta

Speaking at a conference organised by the Centre for Policy Research, the Christian Michelsen Institute, and the University of Bergen, Ambrish Mehta placed the rights of the tribal cultivators of Gujarat in historical context explaining how cultivators lost their land and were declared encroachers. The Forest Rights Act gave the tribals rights over their land and produce.
